Companies decide to become ISO certified so clients know they will get consistently high-quality electronic assembly work, among other reasons. One reason, an extremely important one, is that it does establish credibility. The certification shows that a company follows a system that’s practiced and trusty. It shows that quality and client-company satisfaction are top concerns. Standards cost, and there may be considerable time and financial resources placed into adjusting to them. If it were a matter of simply stating “We follow these standards,” certainly pretty much every company would do it. But because there is a cash and time cost, as well as audits that are required for certification, only the most committed companies will do it.
