The Bed Bugs Threat – Problem and Solution

Bed bugs cause unnecessary annoyance to family members in numerous homes. These annoying pests survive on warm blood, and if human victims are not available then they target household pets like dogs. In addition, eliminating them is not easy at all and it warrants a serious pest control effort to remove them.
Travellers often bring bed bugs with them to a new home destination where they grow rapidly and start annoying the residents of the home. Crevices in room furniture and carpets are the best places for bed bugs to take shelter and prosper.
An overwhelming majority of people harbour the wrong idea that bed bugs like places that are unhygienic. Since these pests survive on blood and not trash, cleanliness doesn\’t help in getting rid of them. But cleaner surroundings help in better spotting of these pests and thereby eradicating them becomes easier.
That bed bugs are too tiny to be visible without any visual aid is another mistaken belief. In fact, these creatures can be seen without any difficulty, yet we rarely see them as they have flat bodies that help them vanish easily in narrow cracks of furniture or layers of fabric.
Bed bugs bite. They can survive long without eating – up to 6 months or a year.
When it comes to cleansing a home of bed bugs, not many people can do the job better than an experienced pest controller, so it is better to call in such a person instead of trying to get rid of these pests on your own. Nevertheless, there are some home remedies also to control their nuisance such as washing bed sheets, carpets and other cloths in warm water and then keeping them in the sun. Cracks in the walls should be closed with a sealant, and any furniture item that has holes should be got rid of as they can turn into potential habitats for these pests.
